I work where there are no cell sites and I need to develop an app that transmitts? the Geo-Location to other phone in the area using the phones? radio similar to Push-To-Talk technology.
After transmitting the geo-location to the other phones similar to Latitude,? insert the data into the phones database for the user to see.
The locations need to be place on a map.
This needs to work on the G1 Android.
## Deliverables
1)? ? ? ? ? Each phone needs to record it GPS location in its database. I have the software completed for this, which inserts the data into a database.
2)? ? ? ? ? Each phone will broadcast its location and phone number at 3-second intervals for 1 minute using its strongest range frequency phone to phone. No cell site is used. Phones will also transmit their geo-location upon request. The request signal can be defined as any unique code that does not conflict with normal communication.
3)? ? ? ? ? Each phone will listen? & record the GPS location of the other phones and store the GPS, signal strength and the phone number in its database. This is basically the same application as google’s Latitude.
This application is different from Google’s Latitude in 2 ways:
a) Phones transmit directly to other phones like push to talk technology. No cellular site is used.
b) Each participating phone will store data in its local database or in the contact list and the user can see it:
Database columns are: Phone Number, Geo-Location, Distance from subject phone, Degrees relative to North (same as aircraft compass), Signal strength (1 to 5) 5 being the strongest signal and timestamp.
4) Plot phone locations on map with zoom set to show all connections.
