Change default IE document mode (from QUIRKS to IE)

I have a joomla 1.5 based site using community builder. When a user clicks a particular link, the document type for the page default is incorrectly set to Quirks mode in Internet explorer. It should be set to Internet explorer 7/8/9 standard.

I need the page to not be displayed in Quirks mode as standard as this is messing up the layout.
