Adding Continuous streaming component to music blog.

Recently started a music blog that has been getting a good amount of attention on the web. Would like to create a sort of on-demand streaming feature that sets it apart from other similar blogs. Here's what we're thinking:

-We upload song files to server to accompany each post. So, if I post about a new Skrillex collaboration, that media file is referenced or added to the post.

-user, browsing blog, thinks "ooh, i'd like to listen to this" and clicks play. The way the blog is set up now, that user must stay on the page to listen to the streaming track via soundcloud or youtube or wherever the song is shared and can be embedded. That leads to our problem- the user must stay on this page until the song is completed, so browsing on the blog grinds to halt unless he wants to interrupt the playing song.

-so my idea to solve this problem, is to add a widget, anchored to the top or bottom of the page, where song files can be selected from posts, added to a queue in the anchored widget, and streamed continuously while the user browses (and adds songs) from various pages on the website.

We have a widget that streams tracks of our choosing continuously, but it would be so much more user-friendly if we could make "new hot song" suggestions, and users could throw them into an on-demand streaming playlist, then listen away while browsing other music and pages on the site, or just let the playlist run continuously while at work, home, or party.

is this a reasonable goal? Or am I delusional? Hopefully one of you will know!
