Hi Folks,
No one-liners please - they do not get my attention. Show me forms that you have developed and talk me through your solution using some or all of the requirements outlined here.
This project is to redevelop all of the forms on the website www.diamond-ireland.com. The forms are currently generated by the provider [login to view URL] and then adapted slightly to look better. The code as is will not function on the new server.
There are currently 8 forms but you should bid for 10 as I plan to add a view more basic ones. This is the most complex one - [login to view URL] and these are the simplest - [login to view URL]
The new forms will be for www dot diamond dot ie which is a development of the existing site and will esentially be a more developed version of it. It is hosted by [login to view URL] and you should contact them for technical capabilities.
Elements of this task:
- Improve the html for excellent loading performance and look and feel.
- The new forms should have the same functionality as the old ones such that some fields are required and others are not. If it is required the customer is politely reminded.
- There will be a few additions/suntractions to the fields in the existing forms but these will be defined after project start.
- The new site will have CSS and there will be a left and right hand column. Therefore the forms will have to be narrower.
Technical aspects:
Autoresponder - An autoresponder should be emailed to the visitor and I should receive notification if the email address provided did not work. This will save me preparing a quotation for a dud contact.
Thankyou page - On the main engagement ring form I would like a special feature. Depending on which answer that a visitor gives to one of the questions - "Which is most important to you?" - I would like them to see a different thank you page. On this page they will see information relevant to their submission.
Notification email - I would like this to arrive in a nice format for me to read and also as a tab delimited text file so that I can import the data into Excel and Act 5.0 or, later, straight into an online database. If we can setup this database now, all the better.
Additional icing on the cake
Can anyone suggest a solution for enabling the main engagement ring form to pick up on the image that a visitor selects from this flash view of the setting styles: [login to view URL] When the complete the form their selected setting would already be chosen for them.
The next phase of this site will include an automated response to each inquiry. The response will require some independent input but this would be easily managed by the administrator through an online management consol. For example, the administrator would add the price and exact carat weight of the diamond that they have sourced and when submitted the customers quotation will be sent either as an html email or as a PDF. This is NOT required now but I would like the more important forms to be ready for this next level of development.
Is this solution any use to us? [login to view URL]
Looking forward to your bids. I am going to start this one soon so please supply your detailed bids soon.

Hi, We have over 5 years of experience of web designing, search engine optimisation and web programming on php and other web technologies and programmed many applications. We are confident to complete this project with in budget and time. Thanks.
If your forms are written in PHP, they can check for any data errors and report them back to the submitter. That may mean converting the whole site to PHP. The other advantage of PHP coding is the ability to store ANY information that you want into a MySql database for viewing and/or editting. Here is a short PHP form I have done (it is just a contact page):
This is just the PHP code that handles the contact form.
