At [login to view URL], we have a flash player that plays music videos. Currently, users can either select a single video to play, or select "Play all" from any particular page that lists several videos. Those videos are then queued in the video player and play consecutively.
We would like to add the ability to add to a playlist that would allow a site visitor to select videos from any page by clicking on a "add to playlist" button. The list of videos currently in the play list would be visible on every page. On this list there would be a "Play" button that would open the player to begin playing the list. The playlist should be cookie based (not login/password), and so playlists can persist accross sessions as long as cookie is still there.
## Deliverables
As already described, this job requires you to add functionality to the [login to view URL] web site. Specifically:
1. Allow people to click on a link underneath any current video which would add the video to a playlist
* This will add the video to play list via writing to a cookie
* The play list would then appear on the right margin of the web site. I will provide HTML for a box in which the listed videos will appear.
* Each entry in the playlist will include the name of the song of the video, the artist, and link to the artist page on the site. These are all values that will be grabbed from the MySQL db.
* Users should be able to shift the order of the videos in the playlist, as well as delete entries in the playlist.
* Users may have up to 10 videos in their playlist. Once that maximum has been reached, a message will display if they click the "add to playlist" button that tells them this.
2. There should be a link/button in the play list box that allows the user to start playing the play list. This will open the page that has the Flash video player in it (a pop-up, which you can see on [login to view URL] by playing any video). The flash video player will need to be modified so that it plays the entries in the play list in order.
* The flash player will read the cookie to get the values of which videos to play, and in what order.
* Ideally, the cookie would also contain information as to which video was last played, so that if the video player was stopped and restarted, it would continue playing from the last entry in the playlist.
