automated door

i am working on a project for school that is due on the 22nd. i think i have got the hardware part of it but i don't know how to program it. the way it works is that a door (garage or anything with a motor and a sensor) is being detected from a microcontoller which is connected to a phone line. the user can check the status of the door by calling the house. after the voicemail picks up, there will be a choice to listen to the voice messages or check the satus of the door. the user using his cell can close the door ( if it is open) or open it if is closed. a passward will be really nice. i hope to hear from whoever can do this project for me.
