Creating Google like Map Styles for own map on Geoserver

We want custom map styles created for our own maps. The map we have is from Navteq. The map is now being rendered by Geoserver. So the map styles need to work on Navteq and on geoserver. If one knows standard SLD syntax can do this job. The look and feel should be as close to Google Maps. Look at this tutorial. There are sample stylesheets but this works only for Tiger data shape files.
