Code required to read and write (I/O) to Harddisk using FAT32 I/O -- FAT32 details can easily be downloaded from the WEB.
Code must be able to perform all FAT32 i/o functions, including but not limited to: Directory I/O and scan, Open file, read/write, extend,....
Code must be written in 'c' language -- no C++, No assembly language. Code must be portable. Code must be portable to a microcontroller.
Code must be fully commented and documented in english.

Submitted code will be tested using a Zilog microcontroller connected to a 20G hard disks that contains winxp filesystem and files. SW should be able to find each file on the hard disk and open one file at a time and read full contents. Results will be compared against same test run on a PC. Similar test will be conducted to ensure that writing to existing files also works. Similar test will ensure that creation of new files and extension of existing files works.
Part two of the SW will be to test the ability to find and read CD and DVD files. Similar tests as described above will be conducted.
Code must be written exclusively for this project -- no cut and paste jobs, no GPL, NO GNU, NO 3rd Party SW. All rights go the the buyer. SW programmer must be experienced and be able to perform desired work in a reasonable amout of time. Successful completion WILL result in additional work.
Cash bonus will also be paid, if work is done on time and is of high quality and programmer meets or exceeds quality expectations.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
Software must run on a microcontroller, it must be written entirely in ANSI C, zero warnings with max warnings set. OK to develop code with MS Visual Studio. No TABs -- all spaces.
Microcontroller will be used to test. Small RAM use is a must. See spec for more details.
Code must also run on a PC, with slight modifications made to use I/O ports.
