What we're looking for is someone to create a 'clone' based on a freeware multi-player game that's available at [login to view URL] This includes both a client and server application. We were working on this ourselves, but don't have the time to do it anymore. If you are unsure about something, don't hesistate to ask. A lot of questions are more appreciated than few or none. But naturally, many more details will be provided when a coder is selected. This is somewhat low budget, but also needs to be high quality, so please keep that in mind. ## Deliverables *Client:* -**No graphics** need to be created; Use **standard components/libraries** as a temporary solution. -DO NOT MAKE ANYTHING RELY ON THE GUI; That means, the majority of the code should be in seperate units and be 'called upon' as needed, so that we can use our own graphic engine later on without a hassle. In fact, the GUI should be an 'afterthought' and only be there for the point of showing what the base of the game can do. To store field and player information, you should probably use dynamically created records. -**Multithreaded** (based on TThread class, it's very easy to do), as everything needs to be very quick and remain responsive; Suggesting minimum of 3 threads, one for each of the following: GUI, network related, and file IO/lengthy tasks. *Server:* -**Utilize MySQL** for account database; Details to be specified later. -Needs to handle a **vast amount of concurrent users** without any trouble. -Again, **multithreaded**: network related, file IO/lengthy tasks, *math/calculation. -No GUI. -Detailed logs. *** The server is what needs to keep track of and calculate all client game data, so that it's cheat-proof. That means that if for example, a player 'lags' due to a network problem, they won't know what their next piece is because the server is what's telling them; But the server should 'buffer' quite a few 'next pieces' etc. and send them to the client at a steady pace in the background instead of one at a time. _____ 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Client: -Platform: Windows (98,2000/XP) -Language: Delphi 7 Server: -Platform: Linux -Language: C/C++ -Database: MySQL
