Greetings from Innovision,

We are a startup incubated at SINE (IIT Bombay Incubator) looking for Kickass Android developers.

Today, there are 40 million Blind in the world and their literacy rate is below 10% - significantly lower than that for the sighted. The major reason for this is the lack of information available to them in Braille.

To solve this, we are developing a braille tablet for the Visually Impaired which converts any kind of printed document or digital document into braille and displays it on a tactile display thereby improving their education and employment opportunities.

This will enable them to surf the web, read books, use email, chat and read newspapers, all of it in Braille and making information truly accessible.

Your work will be to develop a smart accessibility service using Talkback and Brailleback APIs, TTS engine(Text to speech) and OCR engine(Optical Character recognition)

Essentials:

- Sound knowledge of Android SDK and Java fundamentals

- 2-5 years of experience in android app development

- Tinkered with Android OS at the kernel level

- Experience in going through large code databases

Nice to have:

- Experience in developing accessibility services

- Experience using Talkback API

- Avid hacker

Join us to bring the World's first braille tablet to life

Preferably we would like to have someone based in Mumbai. We are also hiring for full-time android developers.
