This is a project to develop an instant messaging application with transliteration using Phone Gap framework.
- The app is mainly for instant messaging that relies on the internet (should not require phone device)
- The transliteration will be from English to a different language with its own alphabets (I'll provide the mapping)
- I have to be able to modify the mapping once the project is complete
- Since most devices don't support languages other than English, the app should come with the second language pack/fonts
- It should support iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod) with a possible addition of Android in the future.
- The tablet version of the application should not be a magnified version of the phone devices.
Required Features
- User account with log-in/password that relies on email or phone number (not both)
- Account creation with verification (email or text message)
- Add registered contacts from phone's contact list to the app's contact list.
- Keep contacts in sync and update periodically.
- A setting to set default language.
- All chat history will be stored on the users' device, not on the server.
- Once the message is delivered to the receiver, delete it from the server.
- If a message is not delivered within a week, delete it from the server.
- I'll provide the UI design once I award the project.
Logistics (This is not negotiable)
- You must have previous experience in phone gap development. I'll need to see sample work before awarding the project.
- The deadline is 21 days after project is awarded.
- I'll need 1-2 days to check the app for completeness once you finish testing it. Testing the code is upto you, I'll only be verifying that the task is complete.
- There will be no milestone payment until you can show me first draft of the project.
- Upon completion of the project, you have to deliver ALL source code. You'll have sign off saying you have done so.
- I'll provide SMS gateway and server information
