Hello - I have completed work for you previously and understand the database and structures. My quote would include: -Adding an import procedure which checks for duplicates. -Cycling through each record in the imported data where an existing job matches and displaying the imported data - once verified that data will be written into the relevant fields. -Storing any other data in a JCA table which will allow it to be copied into a serviceable item once it has been created. Greetings! I've studied the case you described. Everything is clear except 2 details: 1, No duplicates First, what does it mean: Sl_Repl are to be unique OR Sl_JCA are to be unique OR BOTH? Then, imagine we detect a duplicated field, i.e. old record already exists and new one is sent to us with new file. So, which one is right? Depending on answer for this qyestion we need either to ignore new record OR replace old record with new one. 2. If the job is not in tbl_Serviceable_Items, then no action should be taken. It will be imported later on I wouldn't repeat whole process with file if one of records doesn't satisfy this rule. Instead, I would split the process for 2 separate stages: - stage 1 - import of records from .xls to a table, with analising of imported data and marking ones with status: OK or DUPLICATED or NO_SERVICABLE_ITEM - stage 2 - user manualy checks the data, edit them if neccessary (every editing leads to recalculating of mentioned status), delete unnecessary ones or APPROVE those that have OK status As for DUPLICATED: you mentioned that it might be some errors in the input files. So, maybe a record may become duplicate just because of some kind of error too. So, proposed approach would allow to adjust such kind of mistake, not just to sort the record out. To simplify life of user with lots of duplicates, I would just make a buttom "Delete all records with status DUPLICATED". However, please don't hesitate to contact me. Regards, Sergey

Hello, Recently I finished a big project using Microsoft Access and Excel - about 100 tables and 50 forms. Users of finished application import excel files and generate reports from collected data on daily basis. I can seperate UI (forms) and data tables, so in the future if you want to extend your application, you can send only file with forms and some sample data only, not entire database with sensitive data.
