Develop and implement Inertial Measurement algorithms for 9-DOF IMU positioning in Matlab and Simulink, without the use of external references like GPS. The algorithms should only use the data from a 3-DOF accelerometer, 3-DOF gyro and 3-DOF magnetometer and result in xy-koordinates in 2D-plane and a graphical representation, in real-time. The coordinates should be relative to the starting point, and should handle both linear movement, yaw, pitch and roll. The use of the algorithms are in a pen-device that uses only inertial measurement units to trace handwriting. Examples of methods that can be exploited are Extended Kalman Filters and Attitude estimation and reference heading systems. Mahoney's research can also be exploited. For more details, contact me.

i am an embedded programmer with 4 years of experience. please look at my portfolio to see the relevant work in which i have utilized this system for autopilot of quardcopter. i have recently send a paper for review in this domain. i am familiar with the ocr gesture recognition using 9dof imu concept and have read some papers during my research. i can work on this project and provide you with the model in matlab and simulink to provide realtime processing when connected with a 9 dof imu. i would need some specifications if you have already selected an imu if not then i can select it myself. i will also provide you microcontroller firmware and circuit to interface imu with the PC. i would suggest use of labview for realtime processing once the algorithm is estabilished in matlab. please contact me to discuss details

Hello. I have this kind of project already implemented in C for cortex arm microcontroller, using 9dof (3d gyro, 3d magnetometer and 3d accelerometer). I can easly translate this code into matlab within two weeks. I based this on Mahony's work. Tommorow i will have my circuit board with those sensors, so i can record a video of working application.
