BATCH IMAGES with Different Photoshop Actions (RULE BASED) - JAVA SCRIPT? ExtendScript toolkit?

Post Description: I have a requirement for a canvas art Business. We need to process many images a day using our recorded "photoshop actions" that move, resize cut, paste etc an image to fit our print file dimensions. (content of action is probably irrelevant to the task) We have many different "styles" and each style has 1-10 sizes. In Photoshop we can batch process a folder of images based on one of these actions. So we can output as many as required images with the same user input. But currently we need to have a user to select each correct "photoshop action" and run on the correct images. This can be tedious if for eg; Today we had 20 images all in unique styles, we would have to run of 20 "actions" only producing one image per a action. This is ok if we had 4000 images in a mixture of the 20 styles, because for the same user efforts as above we would have 4000 images (but yes we would wait longer) for the 20 user inputs. We are aware that using Java script or/and 'ExtendScript toolkit' in adobe applications we can have code to batch off all images and based on rules we can set this off just the once and the script would play the correct actions on each image with just 1 user input to run. ASSETS WE HAVE: * We have all Photoshop actions to make our files the way we require (this is all styles (approx 20) x by all sizes (approx 5 each)= around 100 actions# * * The styles are coded: SG32-LO, SG21-LO etc * Each Action is coded: SG32-LO-A. SG32-LO-B (the A,B etc is for size 1, 2 etc for that style) * We have the STARTING images Which are NAMED: 0001(00B)-SG32-LO * * so the "SG32-LO" images would require the "SG32-LO-A" action to be ran and save the file with the "-A" added to file name. And also all others in "SG32" such as "-B", "-C", "-D" etc. REQUIREMENTS OF JOB: * 1 click solution to run the correct "photoshop actions" on the correct files in a specified folder based on a "style" that is included in the file name on each image. * End results saved in a specified folder * Extension to file name added on the output File name (IMAGE: "0001(00B)-SG32-LO" would become "0001(00B)-SG32-LO-A" after the "SG32-LO-A" "PS action" was ran & become "0001(00B)-SG32-LO-B" after the "SG32-LO-B" "PS action" was ran * We want to be able to add extra "photoshop actions" to the solution in the future in case we make a new style of image. (so it can't be finished and locked down) * We don't necessarily need the finished JOB with all of our action rules built in, as long as we have a working demo and precise instructions on how to put in our rules easily. (but we can supply our actions from photoshop) * A GUI to make it pretty and intuitive to run would be nice but not really needed. WAYS IN WHICH WE THINK IT CAN BE DONE: PS ACTIONS converted to JAVA and added to the JAVA code (IE; Java controls the actions for photoshop) (Script could: Build array List from the image File names in Specified Folder, using the style part of file name refer to all actions within that style, by declaring functions made from converting the PSactions to java) -OR- A JAVA script that knows how to point to PShop's "action" folder/file (where we have them saved) but instructs PShop which one to play. But we are open to any solution than yields the desired result efficiently. WHAT WE REQUIRE TO ACCEPT JOB: * We need to be confident you understand what "photoshop actions are" * We need a explanation of which way you will go about it * We need to know what you will give us (what files etc) * Brief Explanation What we will have to do to get working with all of our actions if you fulfill in a way that works, ready for us to put in our criteria.
