Problem Statement:To build a client program that will help to discover/modify components of SMI-S(Storage management initiative-specifications) compliant SAN(Storage Area Network). A java applet has to be designed and connected to Openpegasus which is a CIM server. This applet will be on similar lines as CIMSurfer/CIMnavigator but on a much smaller scale with only some basic functionalities. Note:An abstract of the project has been added in the "other files" menu along with the Openpegasus CIM server executables.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Worker in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement).
4) The worker must deliver a weekly report on the progress of the project till the project is completed
## Platform
HARDWARE:Two PCs with Windows XP one to run the client and another to run the storage device simulator. SOFTWARE: Openpegasus has a storage device simulator to which the connection has to be had. The client program would be a Java applet and CIM-XML has to be used to interact with the server.
