I have a spellchecker program that uses AJAX, a java servlet, the JAZZY API and JSON to take in a string of text from an editor pane and return spelling suggestions. This project was built as a demo. Currently there is a communications application that uses its own editor pane (built from javascript) that this spellchecker needs to be integrated with. The integration between the spellchecker and the communications app will be done with the Yahoo UI connection module, eliminating the hand rolled AJAX. The connection object code needs to be tweaked to place a 'spellchecker button' on the communications app editor pane so it can be called after the user has entered some text. It would be helpful to make use of the JAZZY API components that allow for misspelled words to be highlighted with the option to change and/or add to library. There are several examples of similar code on the Yahoo developers site and elsewhere so I do not believe this project should take more than two days.
