CSS Colapsable horizontal text viewer compatable with IE8

I require a collapsable horizontal text viewer. I would like to have 8 different bars and when the user clicks on one bar it expands to show text which I will type in. When they click on the bar again it compacts and they are able to click on another bar to expand different text. I have a sketch pdf which I have attached for clarification
