I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a Fashion Design major. I am interested in an Assistant Designer role with a clothing retailer that would allow me to utilize my technical skill set and passion for women’s wear design. I would also be interested in working for a company with fashion forward brands. I would like to gain exposure to every part of the business, from designing and manufacturing to marketing and distribution.
I have several skills that I can contribute to a potential employer. I have experience with drawing, hand sketching, draping and sewing as well as the Adobe Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign. I am also able to work in a fast-paced environment and work cooperatively in a team setting.
Also, I lived in Korea for the first 18 years of my life. I am not only fluent in spoken and written Korean, I also have a broad understanding of Asian cultures, tastes and fashion trends. In addition, I studied abroad for almost 5 years in the most fashion-centric city in the world, New York. I had the opportunity to learn my fashion skills through school while being exposed to this diverse culture.
I believe my background will help me contribute to clothing stores targeting international audiences, using vendors and other business partners overseas, or catering to a multicultural customer-base.
I welcome the opportunity of meeting with you to discuss my background and any potential roles. Thank you for your consideration.
Best,
Ga
