We are currently developing a new website for our company, and would like to have some informative animations to help describe each of our services.
Descriptions
----------------
You can see a layout mockup and a text description here: [login to view URL] (click on each of the services)
So, there are three animations each for the Infrastructure & Land, Agriculture, and Emergency services; and two each for Biosecurity & Conservation, and Security. There is a fair bit of repetition between these animations which should make things easier. We would also like a few smaller animations done for the index page afterwards. We will supply more info about that later.
We’ve recorded a video describing the animation for Agriculture -> Animal Detection, which you can see here: [login to view URL]
We think this would be a good one to start with and refine before completing the rest. Feel free to deviate from the design in the drawing if you think you can portray the concept clearer (FYI we should have drawn grazing area so sheep could be classified).
Each animation needn’t be very long, perhaps up to 30 seconds for the more complex ones.
Style
------
Regarding the art style of the graphics, we were thinking along these lines:
- clear, minimalistic, fitting with the Squarespace theme in use
- draw most things with simple thin lines, dots, and polygons
- transparent background so animation blends into page
- matte, realistic colour scheme (not shiny or cartoony)
- keep objects close to scale (except where emphasis/clarity needed, like the drone itself)
- Muli font, all caps
- same aspect ratio for all
Here are some links displaying styles similar to what we want:
- [login to view URL] (animations should feel like the drawings in first minute, but less intricate and more functional, with coloured lines and fill if necessary)
- [login to view URL] (something like this but with more polygon-like world borders)
- [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] (game mini-maps like this are pretty similar to what we want)
- [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] (perhaps a mix between the very simple first diagram and the more complex second one)
Integration
--------------
SVG / HTML5 canvas? Advise on what you think is best.
We are using Squarespace, and as far as we can tell most options work well with the Squarespace Code block and/or Code Injection.
We plan to have the animations start automatically when they come into view, and smoothly loop.
Timeframe
-------------
We need super-fast turnaround and are prepared to reward for speed. Simply put, if this cannot happen we need to know.
Please let us know if you need any additional information.
