Converting MATLAB function into R function

Hello. I have a function coded on MATLAB that I need to have translated into the statistical programming language R. I do not use MATLAB but from the looks of it, it does not appear to be very complicated. What I expect from this project is a function in R that performs the same calculations as the one in MATLAB with the ability to easily extract the final results (pvalue, test statistic, etc.) with something easy like the '$' operator in R or some other straightforward way.

I also have the published article from which the MATLAB function was originally developed, in case you would prefer to code it from scratch. It's only a 3-page article so it seems doable (and if I had time I would probably do it myself, hehehe...)

I am using this relatively straight-forward project to evaluate potential candidates for more complicated ones. I expect that the person I work with is not only an expert in R and Statistics but is also able to communicate mathematical ideas (through LaTeX) in a clear way and with the patience necessary for me to understand them, since I do not consider a project succesfull unless I learn from it as well. I have a BSc in Mathematics and I am teaching myself Statsitics so I'm familiar with university-level mathematics.

Even though I do not use MATLAB, I know my way around R very well and rest assured that the function you develop will be tested thoroughly through small-scale simulations to make sure that it performs the way it should.

Thank you!
