We are an industrial supply company servicing North America, looking to expand into water purification, specifically, deionizing. We want to provide DI units for spotless water rinses, for windows, cars, etc. For this, we need a compact, battery operated device that can function while wet. We need an indicator light for the battery and TDS levels, and most uniquely, we want to be able to set up a wireless alert to the customer's phone, when their TDS levels are too high. This will let the customer know they need to change their filter media. Nothing on the market currently has the ability to reach out to a customer's phone wirelessly, remain battery operated, compact, and have preset alerts. Whether by one freelancer, a team, or a collaboration of skills, we are interested in paying well for the design, and perhaps future designs, as we would be producing these in bulk. Skills required would likely be a familiarity with electronics, engineering, and perhaps Bluetooth/wireless technology. Please let us know what your experiences are, your expectations for the unit, and your usual fees.

Hi, I am an experienced engineer that specializes in new product design and development. This includes all aspects from initial concept/feasibility to HW/SW/Package design, prototyping, production and patent assistance. I have reviewed the specifications for the product and I can design and test the prototype for you. I estimate the following major tasks/milestones are necessary: A. Operational Overview (5-7 days) B. Hardware Design (5-7 days) C. Firmware Design (5-7 days) D. Case/Enclosure Design (5-7 days) E. Prototype Build and Test (5-7 days) F. Final Documentation (5-7 days) For each of the above, I will furnish you a milestone report detailing the work performed, results, any issues and their solutions, and planned next steps. This will also include all data, imagery, code, etc., produced or utilized for each milestone. The final deliverables will be the working prototype(s), complete documentation/datasheet, project summary and all materials and support and for the product development. Additionally, the product will be developed under normal confidentiality standards and all rights to the product will be yours. I estimate the work can be completed within 30 days depending upon turnaround time for milestone reviews and parts/materials. The fee and suggested payment schedule are below. I have over 35 years experience as an electronic design engineer, please see my profile for more details The current price and timescales are only place holders to allow me to communicate with you I believe that TDS levels are directly related to the water conductivity and therefore if that can be measured accurately it would provide you with a solution. I believe I could easily implement this based on the application note CN0359 I am sure I could provide all the hardware and firmware for a compact battery operated device with all the features you requested. However if you want it to be wireless then although again I I could provide all the hardware I am not able to provide the communication software and the phone app. I have have already designed many wireless and bluetooth products. I head a small design service provider company after three decades in design in electronic design industries. I have constructed TDS meters of various design and wireless connected instruments. The issue of having a battery powered TDS wireless transmitter is this If you want to send TDS data to customer's mobile it is better to send it under over TDS limit Limit condition (a text message through GSM modem) to save battery power. If purifier is within Wi-Fi/BT limit, he can be notified through Wi-Fi/BT Thanks Adip Dutta

Hi. I find very interesting your project. I would carry it out if you wish. I want to know some important details to the project design: 1. How much precision is needed in the module ?. This detail is very important because there are electronic boards ready to buy and to take readings with high precision (single phase sensor) and my job will be to design stage data processing and communication with cell phones. The bad news is that it increases the production cost (up 60%). The other alternative is to design a simpler sensor, not as precise, but less expensive for mass production equipment. 2. I need to know the average levels of water salinity measured. Just to choose the type of sensor used. 3. Which is the maximum value of PPM to alert? 4. The type of alert could be done to the phone via bluetooth equipment with miniature low power consumption as the BLE module RN4020, where customers receive an alert when the battery is low or PPM levels are out of range. The maximum range is 60 meters bluetooth . 5. I suggest using a microprocessor to manage data from the sensor and battery levels and controlling the communication protocols with the bluetooth device.
