I need an schematic with a solution for my problem: I have a device witch is 5V - 1A This device will stay connected in a car (12V) and will stay on all the time, my problem is when I start the car the voltage drops 8V more or less for around 1 or 2 seconds, and this reset my device... So I need some how to ensure that the voltage will always be 5V...

Not much of a issue, but you cannot do it only with a series regulator, also with 1A there will be heating up, there are number of ways if you want to make a real good job you could make a micro switcher. Thanks Adi

Please send me a photo of your 5V power supply The voltage drop came from the starter motor that is a big current consumer. It might me possible to modify your 5V power supply or replace with a more efficient one. Please let me know if you have any question. Regards from Romania

You need constant 5 V supply irrespective of the voltage drop from 12 to 8.I have designed and simulated a simple circuit and simulated it on "Proteas 8" and also it works. Cost for the circuit is nearly $4.
