Dear Client:
I have 30 years experience with editing and writing in technical documentation, public relations, magazines, and various creative projects. I have worked on a handful of novels as editor/proofreader and can provide references for that type of work. (I do not have any reviews on this site yet because I am new to it.) If you were to award me the bid, I would work with you as follows:
1) Determine a schedule and review cycle that works for you.
2) Determine whether you want this electronically edited with the use of MS Word's revision tool or if you want me to mark up hard copy, scan it in, and email it back to you. I can use either method
--I let my clients determine which method is best for them.
3) Keep notes on the pattern of writing issues you may have. For example, I recently edited a Ph.d. dissertation in which I noted a pattern of tense shifts, editorial digressions, and incorrect use of commas. My client found this helpful and he said his dissertation chair noted the same patterns.
4) Evaluate plot logic and development, story arc, character development and motivation, and pacing. I have served as a reader/editor on for others whose work has been published and am working on my own novel as well--I understand these issues and will provide helpful feedback. I am avid fan of science fiction and fantasy.
Whether you select my bid or not, I wish you the best of luck with your project!
Regards,
