The project is basically about merging 206 excel files into one. Unfortunately, the layout of columns is not always the same. Therefore, they sometimes need to be standardized before (or after) merging.
In more detail:
I have excel files with FDI statistics for each country in the world, 206 files in total. In each file, there are 4 sheets: Inflows, Outflows, Instock and Outstock. In the end, I need to have only two sheets: one containing the merged information of all the inflow-sheets and one containing all the merged information of the instock-sheets.
As a template, I uploaded two original data files for Aruba and Afghanistan and two files with the merged data of these countries. Please refer to those examples for needed information, layout etc.
The column "FDI to" must be filled in manually. You find the country's name on top of each original sheet.
The country's names in column "FDI from" can be copied from the original tables. But you will sometimes have to delete empty cells in order to bring all the countries into one column.
Be careful: The order of the sheets in the original files is not always the same.
