Consumer and Product segmentation for e-learning
$8-15 USD / hour
You will need to define the customer segment and product segment for a list of companies in an excel spreadsheet.
After looking at the website, please select the most appropriate:
1/ Customer Segment (who the company targets) in column D:
* personal developers: people looking to learn things for themselves (NOT job driven),
* professional learners: people looking to acquire skills in order to get a new job, keep up to date with what happens in their industry or progress in their current one,
* corporate trainees: companies buying learning products for their employees.
2/ Product segments (what do they sell) in column B:
* hobbies and lifestyle: anything related to health, sports, hobbies or personal interests. Good example: MindValley, TakeLessons
* soft/general skills: any non-technical skills that are needed to perform well at work, such as project management, public speaking, presentation etc. Good example: Franklin Covey, Mind Tools, Grovo.
* hard/specialized skills: any technical skills, such as learning how to operate software, certain machines, or learn how to program for example. This category is fitting for any learning that is very specialized, technical and job-specific. good example: [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view]
* accreditation/test preparation: any company that offers preparation to specific tests, accreditation or qualification. Those could be LSAT, GMAT, IELTS but also courses qualifying for continuous professional development requirements, or accreditation/qualification that is necessary in order to do a certain job (doctors, nurses. Good example: [url removed, login to view]
I have prepared a document, all is needed is to fill in Column B & D (plus C & E if company fits in 2 categories).
EXAMPLE:
Circustreet (first company in the excel list) offers digital marketing. That would fall in the category of a "hard/specialized skill" (in cell in column B) Moreover, they offer a certification from greenwhich school of management, which would also qualify their product as Testing/Certication (column C - optional).
Those categories are defined above, so please refer to those regularly.
In terms of consumer Circustreet targets, they are likely offering courses to people who want to gain that skill for work-related reasons (get a job or improve their skills). The consumer is likely therefore a "professional learner".
