I have done this type of data clean up many times. My approach with doing this job is to use a combination of excel functions and excel VBA to run the process. That ensures a very high level of accuracy. You will find that a number of people bidding on this project will likely just do this project manually and will, as a result, have a high likelihood of errors. I have previously done a number of data consolidation jobs whilst employed full time in a global investment bank and am very familiar with the process and checks and balances needed to ensure a 100% accurate result.
