**Chillout here!** ****This is a level 2 college small project/work using VISIO (Vector based software)? and? **digital tools**. **** This project focuses on the design of a ‘chillout’ zone ??" a room or area of a room where individuals and groups can take time out.? All products are linked by a common theme which is chosen by the student, as is the target audience. **SCENARIO** Everyone needs somewhere to chill. This is your chance to design a chillout zone for you and your friends or for another group. You will choose your user group and identify the area that will become your chillout zone. You will produce plans of the **area**, **wallpaper**, a **cushion design** and a **screensaver** for the zone. Produce a floor plan. It must: * be created using only vector tools? ****(Only Visio OR Visio with Microsoft Word)**** * be drawn to scale * show all doors and windows * show the dimensions and scale Produce an elevation of a wall of the area. It must: * be created using only vector tools? ****(Only Visio OR Visio with Microsoft Word)**** * include a window or door * be drawn to the same scale as the floor plan * show the dimensions and scale **PAPER IT - Pattern design** You must design the wallpaper for your zone. It must be a repeating pattern which is appropriate for your chosen user group and theme. It is NOT acceptable to produce a hand-drawn design or to include any hand-drawn elements.? The following linke shows some? ideas? to start you off. <[login to view URL]>? Design an original pattern for your wallpaper. It must: * be created using only digital tools * be an accurate scaled design * work on standard wallpaper width (530 mm) * work as a repeat pattern both horizontally and vertically * reflect the theme of the zone Make sure the design works as a repeating pattern, both horizontally and vertically. You can do this on-screen or by printing it. Create an image showing that the design works both horizontally and vertically. It must use four repeats of your pattern design (2 x 2). **PAPER IT - Paste it** You must show that your wallpaper design will work on the walls of your chillout zone.? Paste your wallpaper design onto the elevation using graphic tools: * use the same scale for your wallpaper as you used for the wall * cut it to fit around the window or door **FURNISH IT - Cushion** To make sure that your chillout zone is comfortable enough for your users you need lots of cushions. Design a cushion cover to reflect the theme of your zone. It does not have to be to scale but it must show: * The shape of the cushion cover * the cushion cover design * approximate dimensions **FURNISH IT - Screensaver** The chillout zone will include a large flat panel screen. When not in use it will display a screensaver. Create the screensaver. It must: * work on a screen at least 100 cm wide * consist of a sequence of three photos you have taken and edited yourself * loop continuously * reflect the theme of the zone How you do this is up to you. You could, for example, create a slide show or short movie using the photos. Save thumbnails of your original photographs, annotated to explain how you have edited them. **VISUALISE IT** How will your chillout zone look? This is your opportunity to be creative and make best use of the space. You must create a visualisation and a layout of the finished zone. **Visualisation** The visualisation must show the zone in use and include: * your 'papered' wall * your cushions * a screen displaying a still from your screensaver * other elements and effects to complete the scene such as people, lighting, seating, furnishings, plants You MUST create this visualisation using graphics tools to combine elements.
