Dear Candidate, We are looking for the technical content writers with the following qualities: Requirements: o Although many writing techniques are unique to online content writing, a thorough knowledge of standard writing practices is necessary for Web content writers. o Bachelor's degree programs in journalism, English and other mass communication disciplines can fulfil the educational requirements for Web content writers. o These programs can focus on grammar, editorial writing, magazine writing and ethics, and can often include digital media course options. o Specialized certificate programs in electronic writing and digital media production focus on Web content. o Applicable master's degree programs contain advanced coursework on professional writing, electronic media, journalism and other tech-friendly writing disciplines. o Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills o Experience in writing for the Web, content management and internet research o Experience with social networks and implementation of social media marketing o Experience with HTML, CSS, and working with content management systems (CMS) Responsibilities: Web content writers are expected to create work that is optimized for the Web. Common Web content writing practices include: o Concise, fact-filled content o An engaging, active tone o Writing broken up by subheadings o Use of bulleted lists o Writes and posts content online; maintains company Web pages and blog(s) o Contributes to/updates the company’s social sites like Facebook and Twitter o Works with developer to assess any technical challenges (technical troubleshooting) in displaying the content. o Helps develop & document procedures to manage Web content o Moderates content as it is contributed to the website by external sources o Helps plan and implement social marketing campaigns for specific marketing goals o Monitors social media outlets and responds on topics related to company/industry o Keeps up-to-date with best practices in writing for the web, social media trends, web usability, web design, and business/industry trends o Coordinate content creation & publishing of company newsletters (internal or external) o Prepare internal and external communications including announcements, press releases, quarterly corporate reports, presentations, technical documentation, sales support, etc as needed. o Due to the digital nature of the work, Web content writers are often required to know basic design fundamentals and be familiar with digital content management systems. o They are also expected to communicate effectively with clients, meet strict deadlines, follow their clients' editorial guidelines manage their own time.
