c++ android/ios 2d game port to 3d engine (sio2)

We are a indi game studio that developed a small 2d turn based fantasy game (released on android/ios/windows/linux).
We are currenly releasing version 1.3 (end of june) and preparing 1.4 which will be a freemium.
Meanwhile, we would like to give the game a more modern feeling and improve the visuals. We decided that going 3d could be fun. Expensive but fun.
The game is currently written in c++ (with some basic jni (android) and Objective-C (ios) but this will not be touched).
We think sio2 may be a good 3d lib to use. Its very easy to start with as it has all template to build for android and ios, and it fully support c++ (it is actually written in c++)
The project will consist mainly to modify our 2d small library to make call to sio2 when it needs to (creating 2d objects, animating, rendering).
Ex: Add2dObject() will create a object on our 2dlib, but then in the lib you will call sio2AddObject stuff like this. I will help a lot with the integration and we will discuss the best way to do it.
The GUI will not be part of the project (i would like to maintain ours for now, unless it cannot work with sio2 but i think it should)
Same for sounds, currently using openAL and it will be maintained.
There is no game code to write except the 2d to 3d integration. We have no experience in 3d. That why we are looking for someone with experience on 3d engine (whatever, doesnt need to be sio2, but he shall understand the concept), and proficient in c++ as sio2 API are c++.
There is no fixed deadline ( we will setup one once we have a very detailled view of what need to be done). It is a indie project and would like to give it a try, someone that could do mentoring , and help us setup this.
The result could be really interesting as the 2d game is really cool. Seeing it in 3d would be fantastic!
