Initial deliverables will be a very simple app capable of recording video, as close to uncompressed as a phone allows, directly to an external media device. The initial app will be written for a specific Android phone, of the developers choosing, that is capable of recording 4K video. The next steps of the project will be to widen the number of phones that support this function. Once multi-device support is solved, we will only then begin to build out more of the other key functions, such as fixed point focus and white balance and audio levels. Developers must have demonstrable an in depth knowledge of the core Android operating system, as well as understanding how to do low level hardware calls to draw uncompressed RAW feeds from a camera sensor on a mobile device, or at least the technical understanding of how to achieve this if the specific experience is not present.
