Convert an ASP page to Ajax

I have a project management style application. The main page for this lists the projects and their tasks, along with Hours and % complete etc. To update an items means the whole page needs to refresh which takes way too long. I want to convert this page to Ajax so that if a % or Hours amount is entered then the details are updated without refreshing the whole page. The same principal for initially listing the projects and tasks, this should be done live via Ajax The same for modifying and adding items.
