Create a Logo for Dreaming in Color

Contest Brief

Dreaming -in- Color is a kids clothing brand that will feature prominent African American figures, positive messages, and illustrations of true representations of people of color.

My goal is to try to inform and inspire young people of color to be confident in themselves and boost their sense of cultural pride. I would like the lettering of the logo to look like an illustration or a sketch (maybe look like waterbrush paint).

I would like the “I” in dreaming to use a crown for the dot over in the “i” . Also I want the words stacked on top of each other but they don’t need to be directly on top of each other. I don’t want it to look cluttered. The word “in” I would like the symbol (-) to be on both ends of the word. I would like to see what a tiara would look like in the letter D of dreaming. But designs do not have to include it.

The lettering color should be black or teal. The color for the symbol (-) on the ends I would like in black, white or teal depending on which color you decide to use for the words. I want the opposite of whatever you choose for example, if you use black lettering I want the symbol (-) in teal or white but if you decide to use teal lettering I would like to see the symbol in black or white. The color for the crown once again either black or teal or gold. I want the design to look really simple, easy to try to draw on your own yet I still want it too look trendy .
